GP Contracting Group
Insurance Restoration

Insurance Restoration for Homes and Businesses Across BC

When fire, water, or storm damage puts your property into an insurance claim, the contractor you choose determines how well it comes back. GP Contracting Group is a licensed BC general contractor handling claims-funded reconstruction for houses, condos, strata buildings, and commercial spaces throughout the Lower Mainland, the Fraser Valley, and Vancouver Island. One team carries your project from damage assessment through adjuster coordination, permits, rebuild, and claim closure. Insurance restoration has been part of our work since the company was founded, and every rebuild is backed by our lifetime warranty.

What We Restore
Residential and Commercial Loss, Handled by One Contractor
Most restoration firms are built around either houses or storefronts. GP does both, because the construction fundamentals behind a flooded retail space and a fire-damaged family home are the same: accurate scoping, honest pricing, clean documentation, and trades who do it right the first time.

Residential losses we rebuild

  • Fire and smoke damage, from a single room to full structural rebuilds
  • Water damage from burst pipes, appliance failures, and roof leaks
  • Flood and storm damage, including wind and fallen trees
  • Sewer backup and the remediation that follows
  • Mould discovered during repairs or renovations
  • Strata and condo water losses, including common-property coordination

Commercial losses we rebuild

  • Retail, office, and restaurant flood recovery
  • Fire and smoke restoration for tenanted commercial buildings
  • Reconstruction scheduled around your business hours where the site allows it
  • Tenant improvement standards maintained through the rebuild, so the space reopens better than it closed
Your Choice
Your Insurer Suggests a Contractor. You Don't Have to Take the Suggestion.
In BC, the reconstruction contractor on an insurance claim is the property owner's decision.
Insurers and adjusters maintain preferred vendor lists, and those lists exist to control cost and close files quickly. That is a reasonable goal for an insurance company. It is not always the same goal as rebuilding your property properly.
Hiring GP directly means the contractor on site answers to you. We still work hand in hand with your adjuster on scope and pricing, but our obligation is to the owner: rebuild to pre-loss condition or better, use materials that match what was lost, and document everything so the claim supports the work actually required. If you are weighing your options, ask us about cash settlement versus contractor-managed restoration. We walk through the decision in detail.
The Process
How a Claims-Funded Rebuild Works With GP
Insurance reconstruction runs on documentation and coordination. Here is how we manage a claim from first call to closed file:
    01

    Walk the Loss Together

We assess the damage on site with you, photograph and document every affected system, and identify hidden damage risks (wet subfloors, framing, insulation) before anyone prices anything.

    02

    Align Scope With Your Adjuster

We build a detailed line-item scope and work through it directly with your insurer and adjusting firm. We regularly coordinate with independent adjusters, including Coast Claims, and with all major Canadian insurers.

    03

    Plan, Permit, Engineer

Drawings, material specifications, municipal permits, and any required structural engineering are arranged before demolition finishes, so the rebuild starts without dead time.

    04

    Rebuild From Structure Out

Framing, envelope, and building systems first, verified and inspected, then finishes. Hidden damage found mid-build is documented and submitted as a scope adjustment rather than buried or ignored.

    05

Close the Claim, Keep the Warranty

Final inspections, completion documentation for your insurer, and handover. Our lifetime warranty applies to the reconstruction, and you get a direct warranty contact, not a general inbox.

Warranty
Backed for Life, Not for a Policy Period
Every GP insurance restoration carries our lifetime workmanship warranty. If something we rebuilt fails, we come back and make it right. No expiry date, no fine print maze.

FAQ

Insurance Restoration Questions, Answered

In the Middle of a Claim Right Now?
The most expensive mistakes in insurance restoration happen early: accepting an under-scoped estimate, signing with the insurer's vendor by default, or starting demolition before the damage is fully documented. A free scope review with GP takes about fifteen minutes and tells you whether your claim is on track before anything is locked in.
